Human rights are respected and protected throughout Lundin Energy’s activities
We are fully committed to meet our responsibilities towards employees, hired contractors and other stakeholders who might be impacted by our activities across the value chain.
We respect human rights as per our Corporate Human Rights Policy and Guidelines, and abide by and endorse the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact and the Norwegian Working Environment Act.
All our employees undergo a Sustainability induction, with the purpose of familiarising themselves with their rights and responsibilities. The induction covers the Code of Conduct and key governing policies. Everyone working for Lundin Energy, from floor to board, must complete a compulsory e-learning course largely devoted to human rights issues.
Our human rights due diligence approach
We are mindful of potential impacts from our activities across the value chain, and as such, we monitor and report human rights impacts and remedy any negative impacts identified. Any identified impacts are handled in accordance with established grievance mechanisms.
We operate in a low risk environment with respect to human rights as our main activities are in Norway but we are nonetheless attentive to potential risks both in our operations and throughout our value chain. We ensure all human rights requirements are covered in agreements with our contractors and subcontractors, with fabrication sites in Norway and elsewhere. In accordance with our Human Rights Policy, our human rights due diligence process entails identifying, assessing and addressing any potential human rights risks for all our activities on a routine basis, and sets out preventive or mitigating measures in the event of occurrence of any risks. Furthermore, our Whistleblowing Policy and Procedures enable raising of concerns, anonymously.
One of the ways we contribute to the promotion of human rights through our value chain is by engaging with partners, contractors and suppliers. Contracted companies are required to comply with Lundin Energy’s Contractor Declaration, which includes a commitment to respect human rights.
